What are the ‘traditional’ methods of Judo?

By “traditional” we mean the teachings of Dr Jigoro Kano - founder of the sport in 1882

"Good Use of Spiritual and Physical Strength"

"Prospering in Common for Oneself and Others."

These quotes are literal translations from Japanese, the phrases are usually translated into English as "Maximum Efficiency with Minimum Effort" and "Mutual Welfare and Benefit." Dr Kano was an advocate of mind and body, and the discipline of the exercise room involving the observance of the regular rules of etiquette, courage, and perseverance, kindness to and respect for others, impartiality and fair play.
